Our conversation today with Stacy Swain from Warren County's Virginia Cooperative Extension 4-H program gave us all the details for their upcoming 4-H summer camps. Both the day camps and overnight camps have slots still available for kids 5-13 years old.

The day camps will happen June 27 - July 1, 2022 from 9am - 3:30pm each day at Northern Virginia 4-H Center. The camp is broken down into age groups of 5-8 year olds and 9-13 year olds. Activities during the day include arts & crafts, swimming, sports, and more.

The Clarke/Warren overnight camp will happen July 10 - 14, 2021 at Northern Virginia 4-H Center for ages 9 - 13. The camper fee is $350 and includes meals and lodging for five days and four nights, a camp t-shirt, and class supplies.

Stacy explained the camp experience that includes the ability to enjoy the great outdoors, make friends, learn new skills, become more independent, and spend time with positive role models like teen counselors, summer staff, and adults.

Every morning at camp, campers will rotate through camp classes from three different tracks. More information about class tracks offered can be found on their Classes Page.

There is free swim and recreation time each day, as well as evening programs and campfire.

Each room ("den") will be a part of a "pack" which serves as the camper’s “family” during the week of camp. "Packs" will rotate through camp activities together and are involved in different contests on various days. Bear Claws are awarded for spirit, participation, and demonstrations of good character.
