Our conversation today with Dawn Devine (Executive Director) and Tammy Stevenson (Director of Development & Marketing) from Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum gave details about their upcoming event: Are You Smarter Than A 4th Grader?

The event will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2pm - 5pm at Stimpson Auditorium in Halpen-Harrison Hall on the campus of Shenandoah University and promises to be quite entertaining.

Three teams of 4th graders representing Middletown Elementary, Boyce Elementary, and Winchester City Schools will compete against three teams of adults. Two of the adult teams include staff from Yount, Hyde & Barbour as well as members of the SVDM board of directors. The third team will be a "surprise."

Advance tickets are available for $5 or $20 for a family/group of 6. The event will include other on-stage entertainment, light refreshments and lots of laughter.

Dawn & Tammy explained how and why the idea for the event was concieved and their expectations for a fun-filled afternoon to kick off this (hopefully yearly) fundraiser.

Before we wrapped up our conversation, we also learned about Free First Fridays, Summer Camps, their EBT acceptance program, and the new exhibit coming in September.
