Community Radio & the Pandemic

We pre-recorded today's conversation via Zoom with Andrew Shearer (our fearless leader), owner of The River 95.3FM/SportsRadio 1450AM and President of Royal Broadcasting to talk about community radio and the important role it plays during times of crisis such as the current pandemic. We talked about the many ways the radio station is very similar to other small business and about some of the ways it's very different. Andrew gave us some insight into his priorities for keeping the station safe and on the air. He also explained why community radio is so important to him and the high priority he gives to keeping businesses and listeners informed during these trying times. We also talked a bit about the importance of advertising, even during a crisis and the ability it gives small businesses to maintain that conversation and top of mind awareness to customers even if they aren't currently open for business.
