Our conversation today with Dianne Klopp, founder & President of Honor Flight Top of Virginia included one of her board members (and a dear friend of mine), Bill North.

The pair gave a history of the organization and explained how the Top of Virginia "hub" was formed. Bill told us about his experience on one of the missions where his son accompanied him. Dianne walked us through how the trips work, and the itinerary for the day and encouraged listeners to participate in the "welcome home" receptions they host after each trip. She gave us dates and details for the next three missions they have planned: Mission #16 will depart from Loudoun County on Saturday, April 29, 2023; Mission #17 will depart from Winchester on Saturday, June 3, 2023; and Mission #18 will depart from Harrisonburg on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs - like Top of Virginia - working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission. Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to the organization. Honor Flight Network currently honors those who served during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and veterans of any service era who are critically ill.
