Today's Strolling Strasburg conversation with Olivia Hilton, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Town of Strasburg had a shopping twist. We met at Nancy's Coffee Bar to fuel up before strolling King Street to talk to a few small business owners about what they offer for the holidays.

We started off at Pot Town Organics - 181 W. King Street, Strasburg - to check out the ornaments, felt birdhouses, gardening supplies, canning supplies and a variety of items from local makers. The shop also offers lots and lots and lots of plants for the gift that gives all year long. Their hours are Monday through Saturday from 9am - 5pm. Follow them on Facebook for more information.

Our second stop was a "smell good" one at Amy's Lush & Local - 244 W. King Street, Strasburg - where we talked about the power giving flowers can have during the holidays and year round. We learned about the subscriptions they offer and how everything that goes out the door is created for longetivity, creativity, and input from the customer. Their hours are Tuesday through Firday from 10:30am - 5pm and Saturdays from 12:30pm - 4pm. They will be open for a time on Christmas Eve for pickups and "out of the cooler" purchases. You can call them at 727-742-8772 or 540-465-8150. Follow them on Facebook for more information and photos of their creations.

We wrapped up our shopping stroll at Clementine Vintage - 148 E. King Street, Strasburg - for a chat with Sue about what it means to her to be a small business in the center of downtown Strasburg. She explained how she finds the unique and wide variety of offerings she has in the store and talked abou the priority she places on buying things from local businesses and small businesses. The shop offers items from canned goods and food gifts, jewelry, personal things like the soaps and perfumes, ornaments, home decor, locally made candles, the list goes on. It packs quite a punch for a shop it's size. Their hours are Wednesday through Saturday Noon til 6pm and Sundays Noon til 5pm. Though as Sue mentioned, if you see the little orange chair out front, knock on the door, She's likely inside working on a project. Follow them on Facebook for more information.
