We pre-recorded today's conversation via Zoom for Tourism Tuesday - Winchester/Frederick County edition - with Justin Kerns from the Winchester/Frederick County Convention & Visitors Bureau and his guest, Jim Thompson. Jim is the owner of Union Jack Pub & Restaurant in Old Town Winchester, Yummy Pig BBQ in Leesburg, Wild Geese Pub & Restaurant in Leesburg, and his newest venture: Gringo Gordo Empanada Shop in Old Town Winchester.
Jim told us about his different restaurants, his background as a chef and his path to opening the empanada shop on the Old Town Walking Mall in the middle of a pandemic. Justin talked about his excitement of not just empanadas but of having a new eating option and the impact that will have on his ability to promote the area and attract tourists.
