Our conversation today with Olivia Hilton, Director of Strategic
Initiatives for the Town of Strasburg gave us all the details for
Vintage in the Valley happening April 1, 2023.
The 4th Annual Vintage in the Valley Festival will showcase nearly
100 vendors of vintage goods, antiques, and handmade
crafts. Joining us for the chat were two vendors who are
participating in the event as well as small businesses located
within the Strasburg Emporium.
Jamie & Jonathan Fuller (and their children) with Meliora Vintage / Meliora 3-D told us about their
business, their 3D printing, and how excited they are to be part of
VIntage in the Valley this year.
Todd & Julie Bodnar from Bodnar Family Farm are first-time
vendors at this year's event and brand new businesses in Strasburg
Emporium (booth 23) and told us about the types of things you can
find in their space and at their booth during the event.
The event kicks off on Friday evening, March 31,
2023, at Box Office Brewery with a Decades Dance: Prom Edition from
7pm - 10pm - costume contest included. Start the day on
Saturday with a visit to the Strasburg Square to pick up your event
map, sip on a glass of Virginia wine from Star in the Valley
Winery, and listen to a DJ through the decades. There will be a
bounce house in the Wine Garden for those young at heart.
Carriage
rides will be offered so you can see how BIG the event spans. Make
your way to the Strasburg Town Hall lot to kick off your shopping!
The Strasburg Emporium is a HUGE partner for this event, hosting
half a dozen live demonstrations, 40+ vendors outside, food trucks,
and more live music (not to mention the 60+ vendors
inside!)
A Vintage
Car Show will be parked from 10am - 3pm on Holliday Street!
Proceeds benefit the Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter. A highlight
of the festival is the Vintage Fashion Show hosted by Lydia's
Clothes Closet. Their fashion spans from 1920 to present day and
hosts over 50 models representing several generations and walks of
life.
Local
restaurants will be offering daily specials along with downtown
businesses hosting sidewalk sales. The day will wrap up at the town
square where Shenandoah Film Collaborative will be showing a
'Movie Under the Stars' at 7pm: Little Shop of Horrors. There will
be an Ol' Timers baseball game on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
