Our conversation for Tourism Tuesday this afternoon featured Alex Flanigan, Main Street Program Manager for Old Town Winchester. Alex gave me an update on a few events and we talked about the premise behind many of them.

On the first Friday of every month, Old Town Winchester becomes an immersive gallery where visitors to the historic business district can shop, dine, and stroll while taking in local art, live music, and artisan crafts. Artists will be on-site to show their works and wares, and free open air concerts at the Taylor Pavilion make this the perfect chance to come down and experience all that Old Town has to offer! Old Town Spirit will be in effect during this event from 5-10pm so adults can enjoy a drink while they stroll.

Rockin' Independence Eve will take place in Old Town from 2pm - 10pm with live music at the Taylor Pavilion, street performers and lots of great times on the walking mall. Fireworks will happen at Bridgeforth Field in Jim Barnett Park following a Winchester Royals double header. Get more details on their Facebook event page here.
