My fun squad was back on the show today! Tony Baker, Director of Marketing for Frederick County Parks & Recreation joined me for a chat along with Allie Bodenschatz, a summer marketing intern.

Tony gave us details for basicREC. The basicREC program is available to all Frederick County Elementary School aged children and provides participants with recreational opportunities before and after school! Children play games, participate in art projects, crafts, sports, along with many other activities. Weather permitting, most activities will take place outside. Once all planned recreational activities have taken place, children may have the opportunity to do homework. You can register your child for the program at their elementary school as full time (before AND after) or any combination of before and after. You are also able to register your child for a day here or there. Registration opened on July 1. Get more details by clicking here.

This year, FCPRD is bringing back middleREC for middle school students at Admiral Byrd and James Wood Middle School. The program takes place at the Youth Development Center with transportation being provided by the respective schools. This program provides middle school students with social and recreation opportunities after school such as art projects, sports and recreation games, fitness programs, and MORE! Weather permitting, some activities will take place outside. Register your student or get more details by clicking here.
