Our conversation for The Valley Business Today with Edie Emmons from Luray/Page County Chamber of Commerce included Lesley Mack, owner of Birdsong Pleasure Garden and a NSV Master Gardener.
Lesley gave us all the details for the upcoming Gardening in the Valley Tours which will feature Luray/Page County gardens this year. The event happens on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 9am - 4pm and is rain or shine. You can purchase an advance ticket online at their website: http://nsvmga.org/events/garden-tour/ for $10 until noon on June 24. On the day of the event you can purchase your tickets at Massanutten Country Corner (3546 U.S. Highway 211 West) for $12.
Lesley gave us an overview of the featured gardens this year and explained that you can do them in any order and reminded us that in addition to the five featured gardens, there are four additional outdoor/garden spaces that do not require a ticket.
Featured Gardens (ticket required)
Additional Garden and Outdoor Spaces (No Ticket Required)
She also told us that Master Gardeners will be on-site at each garden to point out various features and information tables staffed by Master Gardeners will be at several locations to answer gardening questions. Each location will also feature an educational component such as flower arranging, creating/maintaining a bonzai, etc.
Proceeds from the 2022 Gardening in the Valley Tour will support after-school education provided by Virginia Cooperative Extension Page County Schools as part of the Growing Healthy Habits and nutrition programs and fund scholarships for Page County youth to attend 4-H summer camp.
