Laurel Ridge Community College Drone Day

We traveled to Laurel Ridge Community College for a conversation with Melissa Stange, Professor of Computer Science to get details for Drone Day happening on the Middletown campus on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 4pm - 7pm.
Melissa gave all the details for the event which will include live demonstrations from agencies such as Virginia Department of Aviation, Virginia Space Grant Consortium, Skydio, and more. We talked about all the uses that drones have these days and the impact they can have for all types of businesses.
The event will also feature a drone race course, a mini drone cage, and several professional drone businesses from the community. The will also offer free safety certifications for those who wish to use their drones for personal or professional use.
Throughout the event they will be giving away full scholarships (tuition and books) for UMS107 – Fall 2022 as well as drone giveaways and lots of Laurel Ridge Community College swag.
The event will overlap with National Night Out which will happen on the Middletown campus from 6pm - 9pm. Details for that on tomorrow's (7/29/22) show.
